Evaluation workshop on LANDSURF’s Decision Support System (DSS) successfully conducted
On 26 June 2023, GERICS hosted the 2nd virtual LANDSURF participatory workshop to evaluate a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) for West Africa by end-users. The DSS has been designed and developed with end-users from the start of the project. It now reached a stage, where end-users were able to test and provide feedback on a first application of the DSS.
During the workshop, scientists from the project gave a series of presentations on the DSS, such as the identified climate indicators and end-user needs, additional features and content to be added to the system as well as three different showcases of how to use the DSS. Moreover, towards the end of the workshop, the end-users were invited to give direct feedback on their experiences with the DSS in an open discussion. In total, up to 28 participants from six different countries (Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, and Germany) attended this important event for the project.
