Humboldt-Foundation: International Climate Protection Fellowship

Every year the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables prospective leaders in academia and industry from developing countries to implement a research-based proposal in the field of climate protection and/or adaptation through the International Climate Protection Fellowship (ICP). One of the requirements for this fellowship application requires a detailed statement by a host in Germany, including a mentoring agreement. To enable GERICS to get to know the applicants better and decide which proposals fit the work of the institute and possible mentors from the GERICS colleagues, please fill in this short form:

In addition, kindly send the following documents to the GERICS contact person indicated in the web form:

  • a language certificate (English or German)
  • a recommendation letter either of your professor or the head of the department you are working in
  • draft of your research outline

Deadline for applicants to be a guest at GERICS: November 30th of the current year

You will be notified of your possible collaboration with GERICS latest on January 5th the following year. The Humboldt fellowship deadline will be on February 1. However, despite those closing dates GERICS is happy to receive the application forms as early as possible.

Deadlines for applicants:

• November 30 (current year): GERICS application form and additional documents submitted to GERICS
• February 1 (succeeding year): Humboldt International Climate Protection Fellowship application deadline, all documents submitted in the Humboldt website.
