Humboldt-Foundation: Climate Protection Fellowship
Every year the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables prospective leaders in academia and industry to implement a research-based proposal in the field of climate protection and/or adaptation:
International Climate Protection Fellowship for young climate experts from developing countries
The application for this fellowship requires (among others) “a detailed statement by a host in Germany, including a mentoring agreement”. GERICS has often been asked to be such a host. To introduce a reasonable workflow, we ask all applicants who want GERICS as a host to fill in a short form.
Form for Humboldt Climate Protection Fellowship Candidates to work with GERICS
Thus we can get to know the applicants better and decide which proposals fit the work of our institute and who among the GERICS colleagues could be your mentor. Please add the documents asked for in the application form as well.
- a language certificate (English or German)
- a recommendation letter either of your professor or the head of the department you are working in
and send everything to GERICS. Deadline for applicants to be a guest at GERICS: November 30th, 2022.
You will be notified of approval by GERICS on January 5th latest. The deadline for the draft of your proposal for the GERICS mentor is February 1, 2023. However, despite those closing dates GERICS is happy to receive the application forms as early as possible.
Deadlines for applicants:
November 30th for the GERICS application form to be submitted to GERICS
February 1, 2023 for the draft of the fellowship proposal to be submitted to GERICS
The closing date of Humboldt Foundation changes a bit every year. Please look it up at
